Loving Unto the End
Loving unto the End
Grace and peace to you.
Beloved…we are called to love God and love one another. Last Sunday we shared that we should also love our enemies. And today is the day after an historic presidential election. So what does that love look like today?
Loving one another right now DOES NOT mean sweeping the raw pain and grief under the rug. That’s what fed the evil causing this division…the fancy facade hiding what was festering and spreading underneath.
Loving one another RIGHT NOW means that a lot of people are frightened and baffled and unsure of their next steps. They don’t need cheap Gospel or platitudes. They need you to sit with them…to be uncomfortable with them, to give them kleenex and to let them keen over brokenness they feel. We do NOT get to get over this today.
So love your enemies. Do good to those that hate you. Listen to understand – not to rant back. Don’t sweep it under the rug, hide in under a band-aid. smother your love with false hope. Meet them where they are…not where you are.
You will be given the words you need by the Holy Spirit when you need them.
So come – however you find yourself and wherever you are on your journey. You are invited and welcomed and beloved.
In Christ,
Pastor Tina +
