Catch & Release

This week, Jesus is fully immersed in ministry.  In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus has returned from his time in the wilderness, moves to Capernaum, and begins to preach that the Kingdom of God is near.

So he walks by some fishermen and calls them to follow him.  And they do.  They immediately leave what they are doing and follow Jesus (I’ve heard this story all my life and I still wonder what/how/why they were compelled to follow just like that).

Catch and release – catch them with the Good News of God’s Love and release them from every sickness and disease.  It’s still the news that changes everything for those folks then and for us today.  We are called to share the Good News – and to release those oppressed from the sicknesses and diseases of our lives today.

Come  see – all you faithful or you who are seeking – wherever you are on your journey.  You are invited and welcomed and beloved.
