Lent: Professing our faith and denying evil

Temptation – something that pulls us away from a better, more fulfilling person, place or thing.  We all face temptation: the snooze button, the extra cookie, the increase in charitable v discretionary giving…you know – temptation

Today’s gospel tells of Jesus’ temptation in the desert. His forty-day fast becomes the basis of our Lenten pilgrimage. In the early church, Lent was a time of intense preparation for those to be baptized at the Easter Vigil. This intense focus on the meaning & profession of faith is at the heart of our Lenten journey to the baptismal waters of Easter. Through these next forty days, let us turn from ourselves and turn toward each other in Word and service.

Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on your faith journey, know that you are most welcome here.

Worship on Sundays is at 8 & 10:15 AM & 6 PM.

This week you are invited to Faith Formation, where we are working together to re-create plastic bags into plastic yarn.  The plastic yarn will be used to making sleeping mats for the homeless.  Bring your bags and scissors!

In Christ,
