Life of a Disciple: Healed & Grateful

This week, while on the road between Galilee and Jerusalem, Jesus encounters a leper colony – men & women who are dis-membered because of their illness (cut off from family and livelihood).  They ask for mercy and are sent to the priest – who has the authority to re-member them into society. (They follow directions).

But one turns back. The others are not bad or villanous – nor do I believe ungrateful for their healing. They were following directions.  But one turns back to give thanks and praise for being healed. And the one who turned back was one who was also a foreigner (talk about being dis-membered). Jesus tells him that his faith has healed him.

Huh.  Last week it we talked about faith in God.  This week, it is faith in God that heals. And our response is gratefulness.  Being thankful.  (Monday is Thanksgiing Day in Canada and this text is used for our Thanksgiving Day service)

So come – however you find yourself and wherever you are on your journey.  You are invited and welcomed and beloved.

In Christ,
Pastor Tina +
