Marked with the Cross of Christ
As we focus on our baptisms while praying for those preparing for their own, we remember the moment when the sign of the cross was placed on you: “You, child of God, have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever.” This is a public sign that can never be erased. It’s a covenant between you and God.
In today’s gospel Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born of water and Spirit. At the font, we are given a new birth as daughters and sons of God. As God made a covenant with Abraham, in baptism God promises to raise us up with Christ to new life. That’s the covenant that is sealed on our heads at our baptism. From worship, we are sent forth to proclaim God’s love for all the world.
Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on your faith journey, know that you are most welcome here.
Worship on Sundays is at 8 & 10:15 AM & 6 PM.
By the way – our initial plarn making time went well! We still have bags & directions for you to take part in the this neat and important project! You’re invited to work on this here during coffee hour or at home. The plastic yarn will be used to making sleeping mats for the homeless.
In Christ,
Pastor Tina +
