HOUSE CHURCH YEAR TWO: What is discipleship? What does our building and grounds say to our parishioners, to tenants, to people that drive by? These are the things that we’ve been digging into for year two of House Church.
Areas are still being scheduled and some rescheduled due to weather. Pastor Tina is still looking for hosts for Lake Hopatcong, Sparta North, Sparta West, Woodport Rd to Sparta-Stanhope Road, & SOTH neighborhood. Call/email her for information!

WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY: We’re halfway through the book of Daniel and its not too late to join us! History, faith, folk tales, visions and beasts! It’s the book that predates Dungeons and Dragons & Game of Thrones. Wednesdays at Noon – in the Parish Hall. Bring your lunch and a bible! We will next meet on February 22 and read through Chapters 9 & 10.
IN SEARCH OF…Pool Noodles in good condition! Pastor Tina is planning the next First Friday Event (March Madness) and could use about 10 pool noodles (that you don’t want back). Bring them to church and leave them in front of the supply room.
WINTER COATS: Many of the SEC Food Pantry clients do not have proper winter outerwear. If you have coats you’re not using, please consider donating them to the Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry. You may drop them off there or here at church.
HIPPA: Don’t’ forget – if you are in hospital or expect to be in hospital to call pastor Tina so that she can pray for you, and if you so desire, visit you as well. Federal law prohibits hospitals from automatically contacting the church
HUNGRY FOR LAUGHS…The SEC Food Pantry & The Looney Bin Comedy Club are hosting a night of comedy at First Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Sparta. Proceeds from the event wIll support the start of the 2017 kid’s Lunch campaign. Tickets are $25 and available by calLing 201-306-6148.
ECUMENICAL PRAYER CYCLE: The Ecumenical Prayer Cycle enables us to journey in prayer through every region of the world and through every week of the year affirming our solidarity with Christians all over the world, brothers and sisters living in diverse situations, experiencing diverse problems and sharing diverse gifts.
