We are One in Christ

John Lennon’s iconic song “Imagine” begs of the listener to imagine a world as one.  St. Paul, from jail, declares to the Ephesians that in Christ we are one – one body, one Spirit, one hope, for the building up of the body of Christ.  Not something to imagine.  Something that is already happening.  And will continue to happen.

Yet we are a more fractured and divided community than ever before.  This week, a Pew Research studied released data on the most and least racial diverse denominations.  The data calls us to action because it’s not about color, race, ethnicity, class, gender identity – it’s about Christ at the center – through whom and in whom we are one.

So we start now – with our differences that enhance and enrich one another, in humility and gentleness, patiently, bearing one another in love, that through the Spirit, we meet in peace.

We Welcome.
