What’s Happening on the Hill?
FINANCIAL INFORMATION: The church is currently experiencing a shortfall in available cash needed to pay the monthly bills. We are asking all folks to designate their giving for the unified giving/operating fund for the next six months. We are hopeful that this will not only meet our monthly budgeting needs (about $24,000) but also return a cushion to our available cash.
If you use Simply Giving, you can make those changes by going online. You may click the button at the bottom of this message, which will take you to the online portal.
END OF YEAR GIVING: The end of the fiscal year is rapidly approaching. If you intend to give a year end donation, please have then to the office by Friday, December 30, 2016. Thanks for your attention to this deadline.
WORSHIP SERVANTS NEEDED: Do you have time to set up or clean up the altar? Can you help count and record the church’s donations? Are you able to help others in their worship experience as an usher or media person? These are all necessary roles and no hands are too big or too small. Contact Wendy Whipple or Pastor Tina for more information.
FAITH FORMATION: We are meeting this week! Join us at 9 AM for fun and faith.
HAT, SCARF & MITTEN TREE: Each year, a special tree is put up that is decorated with hats, scarves, and mittens that are stitched by you all or purchased as gifts to communities that struggle to stay warm. You are again invited to bring a ‘warm’ offering for this tree. A portion of these will be taken to the Faith Kitchen in Dover the first weekend in January.
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY: We’ll finish Daniel Chapter 2 on Wednesday, December 21 at 12 PM. Bring your lunch and a bible.
OFFICE COVERAGE: During the month of December, we are in need of folks who have time to answer the phone and do light office work. The hours are 9 AM – 1 PM, Monday through Wednesday. Please email or call Pastor Tina if you have time to share.
PATIENCE, PLEASE! Please be patient if no one answers the phone or immediately returns an email. Pastor Tina is getting messages and will return them as able.
ECUMENICAL PRAYER CYCLE: We join with Christians around the world praying for our brothers and sisters in joy and concern. For the week of December 18-December 24, we pray for Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo . Learn more about these countries when you click on the link, which will direct you to the World Council of Churches website.
