Easter Six: Deep Roots of Faith grow into Trees of Life
First – We will worship at one service this week which begins at 9 AM. During worship we will welcome 6 young people to the table for the first time. Directly after worship, we will conduct at congregational meeting for the following items: Discuss and accept the 2015 Annual Report, Hear results of the Winter House Church visits, and to elect new members to council.
Now – our texts: The reading from Revelation shares a vision of what the new creation in God will look like. I was drawn to the image of the tree of life – growing fruit to nourish God’s people and its leaves that will heal nations. Wow. Such a beautiful and potential unsettling image – and the work that it takes for this to happen seems daunting.
But at Jesus tells his disciples, we aren’t alone. An Advocate is sent to us to be with us as we grow from those tiny seeds into trees that nourish and heal. My peace I give to you.
Come and worship with us at 9 AM. There is no Faith Formation – but there will be a kid’s activity in the balcony during the meeting. All are welcome!
Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself in your journey, know that you are most welcome here.
Blessings,
Pastor Tina
PS: Thanks for your prayers and notes about my grandfather’s homegoing to heaven. They were much appreciated.
PPS: Sorry about not sending last week’s email. I had it ready to go and forgot to hit send. Please forgive me.
