Mission & Ministry Updates for May 6, 2016

Ministry & Mission News:

Thanks:to Jim & Sylvia for setting up and cleaning up coffee hour on Sunday.

NJ Synod of the ELCA Synod Assembly will occur on May 6-7 in Long Branch, NJ. Please keep the leaders and delegates in your prayers as they discuss the business of the Regional Church.

Faith Kitchen Service: This Saturday, May 7, we are preparing and serving the meal for the Faith Kitchen in Dover.  The Maynard family is coordinating this effort.  Contact them if you are able to help!

Mark Sunday May 22 at the 10:15 worship service in your calendar.  The choir will lead us in worship at 10:15, the Faith Formation teachers and students will plant the garden, and we’ll celebrate with lunch. We will also give thanks to our choir members and faith formation teachers during worship.

Hammer for Heroes:  Habitat for Humanities is hosting a building day at their Restore location in Randolph on Saturday June 4.  Let’s get out there with our hands and feet to build walls and play houses for our Veterans and their families.  We’d like to get 10 folks signed up for a team.  Donations are also accepted as this is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.  Contact PTina ASAP…

Graduation Recognition:  Sunday, June 19, we will recognize all of our graduating high school seniors.  We’ve sent postcards to them asking for a photo and a brief bio.  During worship, we will bless them and wish them godspeed as they begin a new journey.  Join us for fellowship after worship.

Clean Out for a Cause:  Connect for Community, our ministry partner, is preparing for its second “Clean Out for a Cause” Garage Sale in June.  Last year’s event was a success – but this year – with our help, we hope to make it bigger and better.  This is a first call for volunteers for the week of June 5-June 11. Please contact Sarah Kuhns (646-327-8507) to help out this great event!

Ecumenical Prayer Cycle:  We join with Christians around the world praying for our brothers and sisters in joy and concern.  For May 8 – May 14, we pray for Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda Learn more about these countries when you click on the link, which will direct you to the World Council of Churches website.
