Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

The letter to the Galatian Churches:
Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

Galatians is a letter from Paul to the young churches in Galatia – a community in present day Turkey.  Paul had visited and established mission churches there but through other folks, had come to learn that things weren’t as he had left them.

This week, Paul turns to faith in Christ – and the gift of grace that bestows from God.  It’s not anything we did or didn’t do…it’s what has been done for us!  And that’s not always an easy concept to grasp.  The Galatians are used to having to look and search and adapt. Paul announces that in Christ, you can stop looking.  The gift is with you.

What amazing news!  In our current climate of political and social and economic strife, we are encouraged by these worldly things to look and to strive for happiness and acceptance.  And we don’t have to – because in Christ – it’s there.  We are justified – made right with – by faith in Christ.  That makes all the difference.
