Galatians: Mysterious Ways

Galatians is a letter from Paul to the young churches in Galatia – a community in present day Turkey.  Paul had visited and established mission churches there but through other folks, had come to learn that things weren’t as he had left them.

If we have been saved by grace through faith, and if we are one in baptism, then what are we supposed to do?  Are we free to live as we want?  That’s the focus of our Galatians lesson this week.

And the answer is no…we are not free to live as we want. We have been freed from the law so that we are able to love one another as God loves us. We are called to live into the promises we make at our baptism (and this week, once again, we’ll witness a young child being baptized and his parents making those promises for him).  Paul then gives a list of things to do and not to do in order to truly live into that love.

Summer Worship Schedule in full swing! One service on Sunday at 9 AM. We will welcome Logan M. into God’s family through baptism. We will also celebrate with Barbara Osborne, who completes a two year Diakonia program on Saturday June 25. Sunday education programs are on hiatus.

Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself in your journey, know that you are most welcome here.

Blessings,
Pastor Tina
