re: God
If for nothing else in our lives (I mean there’s more but this is the core), is this truth: God who loves us without exception or qualification.
As we prepare to remember the bold act of Martin Luther this weekend and the Reformation that followed, this declaration – that God loves us – continues to draw all of God’s creation to God.
And because of this – we re-pent of the things that have drawn us from God. We are re-deemed through Christ by God. We re-form and re-orient our lives into relationship with God and one another, we are
In our Gospel this week, we meet Zacchaeus – the chief tax collector that no one liked. (If you remember the song from Sunday School, you know the story). God loved Zacchaeus and Zacchaeus loved God despite what the neighbors had to say about him. Jesus truly saw Zacchaeus, re-membered him as a child of Abraham, and declares that Zacchaeus is saved; the unlovable, un-liked tax collector is saved and restored.
So come – however you find yourself and wherever you are on your journey. You are invited and welcomed and beloved.
