Mission and Ministry News…

Ministry & Mission News:
God’s Work. Our hands. T-Shirts…do you have your SOTH ‘God’s Work, Our hands ‘T-shirt?  The next day to wear them in November 20 as we deliver the Thanksgiving meals. We have some still available for purchase for $10.  We are wearing these this year everytime we head into the community to live out the Gospel.  Get yours before they are all gone!

Fall Clean-up:  Saturday, November 12 at 8 AM & November 13 at 11:45 AM.  Bring your best yard tools and your enthusiasm as we prepare the grounds for winter.

Fall Food Outreach Donations:  Y’all are doing a great job!  We’ve partnered with C4C who is stretching our donations for the Thanksgiving Outreach.  The left over funds will be shared with the SEC Food Pantry as they prepare their Christmas Dinner Give away (800 + meals).

Our totals: $1625 and 7 turkeys.
Our goals: $3000 and 20 turkeys.
If you have purchased items (like cranberry sauce or stuffing) in the past, consider a donation of that amount to the cause.  I have faith that this congregation can and will exceed the goals set.

Christmas Decorating:  The trees are going up on November 21 (with a pizza & adult beverage dinner from 6- they’re up) and we will decorate them on Sunday, November 27 after the 10:15 worship service.

Sending Sylvia Off:  It’s official – the rock of the office is retiring officially on November 30, 2016.  We would like to send her off in style with a celebratory luncheon on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 11:15 AM in the Parish Hall.  You are invited to bring a dish to share…as Sylvia is partial to potluck events.

If your last name begins with A-F, please bring dessert.
If your last name begins with G-M, please bring a snack.
If you last name begins with N-S, please bring a main dish.
If your last name begins with T-Z, please bring a side dish.
Ecumenical Prayer Cycle:  We join with Christians around the world praying for our brothers and sisters in joy and concern.  For the week of November 13-19, we pray for Republic of Congo, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe. Learn more about these countries when you click on the link, which will direct you to the World Council of Churches website.
