A Heart Transplant

Have you ever noticed there is a lot of “heart language” in the Bible? “Create in me a clean heart” (Psalm 51); “I will give you a new heart” (Ezekiel 36)… and this Sunday, in our Gospel reading, Jesus “weighs in” on the heart-language by saying “It is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come…” (Mark 7). CHURCH GROUNDS WORK DAY – Saturday, Sept. 14 – Please bring your garden tools and energy to help with outside maintenance of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Saturday, Sept. 14 starting at 8:00 a.m. Any amount of time you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. We will work rain or shine! Let’s get our church grounds “spruced up” (LOL!) before our 60th Anniversary celebration. 60th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION & RALLY DAY – Sun., Sept. 15 – Celebration Worship at 9 a.m., Sunday School kick off at 9:15 a.m. and brunch and activities following the service. Worshippers are encouraged to “retro dress”as if it were 1964! Think jackets and ties for the men and dresses and hats for the women! BAKE SALE – Sun., Sept. 22 to support Adrian Appelbaum’s Eagle Scout Project to purchase an AED and three first aid kits for the ed. wing.
