Sinners

The ten commandments identify some really grave sins: among those are murder, adultery, lying, stealing, and defaming the name of God.  However, according to the Scriptures there is another serious sin we all ought to avoid.  Find out this Sunday when Pastor Jack delivers his sermon based on Luke 16 and Amos 6.  Food for thought… in a changing world

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF PROJECTS – Please take a backpack or two from the narthex and fill with the supplies on the list included. There are some partially completed backpacks that you can add to in a box in the narthex. If you would like to help with shipping costs, please mark your check LWR School Kits. Backpacks are due Sunday, Sept. 24.

BIBLE STUDY – Monday evening Bible study will resume on Sept. 15 in church and via Zoom. Wed. noon Bible study at Holy Trinity – Rockaway resumes on Wed., Sept. 3 in church and via Zoom.

SUNDAY SCHOOL – The new Sunday School year for Children ages 4 through grade 6 has begun. Registration forms are in the narthex and on the church website.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS – Sat., Oct. 4 – 10 AM Rain or shine. All animals ae invited but must be leashed or crated. Snacks for furry friends and humans will be provided. Enter to win a basket full of pet goodies!

EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR -Sat., Sept. 20 at 3 PM -.Drs. Meredyth and Keith Appelbaum invite you to Adrian Appelbaum’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor and Reception. Adrian’s Eagle Scout Project benefited the church by providing First Aid and CPR Education to members and a new AED for the Education Wing. Two of his friends, Jack Julian and Wesley Ryker, will also be receiving their Eagle Scout Ranks Additionally, you are invited to attend Dr. Keith Appelbaum’s Wood Badge Ceremony at 2pm (prior to Adrian’s Ceremony) to celebrate his dedication to the youth and the future of Scouting by completing Wood Badge Leadership Training, which is the highest level of training for an adult leader in Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America).
