Celebrate the Trinity!
How can we celebrate something that we don’t understand? I mean – who has the ‘formula’ to the Trinity?
Tough questions to start a weekly email no doubt. Yet I think these are the questions that we ask about the One who creates, redeems, and sustains…who is separate and yet whole at the same time.
And the truth is – I don’t know how to succinctly describe the mystery of the Trinity. And I’m okay with that. (Talk about sharing the truth!) Do i want answers? Absolutely – but I also believe that the One is indescribable – and I am so grateful for that. It means that I don’t need to know. That I can trust the One who is involved intimately involved in our world.
That’s what we celebrate…an indescribable, undeniable, everlasting God. And that’s pretty amazing.
No matter where you are in your journey of faith…know that you are most welcome here.
We Welcome.
End of the Program Year:
It’s time to picnic & plant! As we end the education year, we have two exciting event this coming Sunday May 31
First – we will plant the seedlings we started in April between 9:15-10:15 (and then after church if necessary). I’m so excited to see how these little guys will thrive in their new homes.
Second – we will picnic & play after church. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share!
Spring Cleaning?: Connect 4 Community and SOTH will be holding a joint garage sale on June 5 & 6, 2015. You are welcome to bring your donations on Sunday May 31 to classroom 1 & 2 when you come for worship.
Items NOT ACCEPTED are undergarments, encyclopedias, tires, large artificial Christmas trees, baby cribs, child car seats or any paints or chemicals, hazardous materials, cigarettes, guns, large appliances, mattresses, VHS tapes or carpet remnants.
The fundraiser will benefit both groups. The council has designated our share to the Audio/Visual fund as we look to enhance and upgrade the system in the sanctuary.
Please look for the sign up sheets to help with this amazing fundraising effort on June 5 or June 6. We’ll need folks to help guests, move things, and serve food. If there are folks who are interested in helping to organize, run, and clean up, please see PT.
We Equip.
Wednesday Noon Bible Study:
All are welcome to join in a study of the Letter to the Romans. It’s the longest letter we have of the Apostle Paul and every word is important. We will discuss chapter 3 next week June 3 at noon in the Parish Hall. If you are interested in studying along with us – dropPTina a note and she’ll send you the study guide.
Summer Worship Schedule:
Beginning June 28 through August 31, we will transition to the following days and times for worship:
Sunday Mornings: Worship at 9 AM, with fellowship afterward.
Wednesday Evenings: Meal at 6:30 PM, Worship at 7:30 PM
We know that many of you have weekend plans for the summer or are working on Sunday mornings. We pray that the adjustment of our schedule will help you all remain connected to the church community and continue to feed you as you all feed us.
We will begin Wednesdays on July 1 and end on Sept 2.

SEC Food Pantry Gift of the Month:This year, we are switching up our offerings a bit. There are many things that folks need but are unable to buy with SNAP dollars. They are also things that we normally don’t think about when we donate our food. For the month of May, we are asking for donations of bath soap, shampoo, & conditioner for the Food Pantry. For the month of May, June & July, we are asking for donations to support the Summer Children’s Lunch Program. Look in the right column for a list of food to donate.
