Worship: The Gathering

In this pre-thanksgiving week, we will end at the beginning – the gathering and welcoming of God’s people into worship.  It is a time to focus ourselves on the work that is before us -to hear the word, to share the meal, to respond in praise and thanks.  Liturgically, this Sunday is also the last one of our liturgical year and we call it Christ the King Sunday.  As both a king and a shepherd, Christ reigns over us and along side of us.  The reading this week from Jeremiah prophesies that the Shepherd will gather his flock together.  (I didn’t plan the readings and the liturgical weeks to fall like this – but there is a beautiful symmetry to being gathered and to gather together.) Join us as we worship together at 8 AM and 10:15 AM.
