The Church of the Future – Generous & Thankful..

Today’s gospel reading (and this time of church year) lends itself to an emphasis on giving monetary resources for the coming fiscal year. And it is important that we care for this place where we welcome & equip folks to be sent into God’s kingdom. But stewardship is more than money.  It is about all aspects of our lives. The Good News is that we are freed by God to love our neighbor as the self. We therefore joyfully give to God the things that are God’s (which if you think about it is us – giving yourself).
The mere fact that we gather for worship reminds us that our ultimate allegiance is to God rather than to any one or thing on earth. As we look forward to the future of this place, we are called to give all that we have to God and to fully rely on God to provide.  It won’t be how we think it should be – but it will be what we need.  And in our giving, we will be a blessing for all.

God is good all the time.
