Come, Holy Spirit!

Holy One, ignite within us a fiery passion for your mission in the world today.

Warm us by the Spirit’s dancing tongues of flame, that we may feel your kindling blaze within, urging us to do your greater good. Make us wholly present to experience a new birth, and awaken possibilities within us to share your love in the world.

In this love and abundance, we come to celebrate your harvest— a harvest bearing the first fruits of the Spirit within us.

Show us how to use these gifts, as we listen for your truth in the gentle breeze of your Spirit.

Amen

We Welcome.

Spring Cleaning?: Connect 4 Community and SOTH will be holding a joint garage sale on June 5 & 6, 2015.  If you have items to donate, please set them aside.  We will share more information as we get closer.

Items NOT ACCEPTED are undergarments, encyclopedias, tires, large artificial Christmas trees, baby cribs, child car seats or any paints or chemicals, hazardous materials, cigarettes, guns, large appliances, mattresses, VHS tapes or carpet remnants.

The fundraiser will benefit both groups.  The council has designated our share to the Audio/Visual fund as we look to enhance and upgrade the system in the sanctuary.
Please look for the sign up sheets to help with this amazing fundraising effort on June 5 or June 6.  We’ll need folks to help guests, move things, and serve food. If there are folks who are interested in helping to organize, run, and clean up, please see PT.

Church Council:
The next meeting of the church council is Tuesday May 26 at 7:30 PM.  This is the first meeting since the Congregational election – and there is much to learn about each other.  Please keep these folks in your prayers as they meet to discuss the short and long term needs of SOTH.

We Equip.

Faith Formation:
There will be NO Faith Formation on May 24.  We will celebrate our year and plant our seedlings on May 31.  Wear clothes that can get dirty! After 10:15 worship, we will picnic as well!

Confirmation Students:
The learning year is ending tonight!  This means that you should also have 20 completed sermon notes.  If you have fallen behind, please ensure that you catch up over summer and talk with PTina.  2nd year students should also begin to think about a service project to be completed over the summer.

Last class is tonight, Wednesday May 20.  Please be on time!

Wednesday Noon Bible Study:
All are welcome to join in a study of the Letter to the Romans.  It’s the longest letter we have of the Apostle Paul and every word is important.  We will discuss chapter 2 next week May 27 at noon in the Parish Hall.  If you are interested in studying along with us – dropPTina a note and she’ll send you the study guide.

We send.

SEC Food Pantry Gift of the Month:This year, we are switching up our offerings a bit. There are many things that folks need but are unable to buy with SNAP dollars. They are also things that we normally don’t think about when we donate our food. For the month of May, we are asking for donations of bath soap, shampoo, & conditioner for the Food Pantry. For the month of May, June & July, we are asking for donations to support the Summer Children’s Lunch Program. Look in the right column for a list of food to donate.
