Fifteen Years Later: Service of Remembrance and Hope

Sunday, September 11, 2016  6:00 PM

It has been fifteen years since that early Tuesday morning.  Those of us old enough to remember can tell you where we were, what we were doing, and how our lives changed that day.

It has been fifteen years of anger, grief, fear, & mistrust.

It has been fifteen years of war and violence, here in the United States and abroad in Afghanistan & Iraq.

We come together this night.

We come together to remember our lives before that day and our lives since.

We come together to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11 and since in the service of the United States.

We come together in hope – for a world that lives in peace.  For a nation to move through the grief process.  For neighbors to trust one another in love.

No matter who you are or where you find yourselves, know that in this place and always, you are most welcome and invited.
