Grace and peace to you from God, the creator, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus continues to teach the disciples and those around him – important and often discordant truths about living God’s kingdom now.

This week, we hear about loving one another and radical generosity – even to those who are our enemies. Give and love in ways that seem unwise and silly. Don’t expect anything in return because what you give is more than a temporary gesture or act. This is a hard teaching.

It was hard then and remains hard now – especially in a time and place when we so eagerly consume goods and services. Especially in a culture that likes things right NOW. It’s how the economic culture is set up. And Jesus points the disciples us to something greater than the now – Jesus points to the coming life with God in heaven.

I am away from February 19 – March 1.  If there is an emergency, please contact Rev. Dr. Debra Brewin-Wilson at St. Mary’s Episcopal at 908-770-1825.

Beloved, know that whoever you are and wherever you are on your faith journey, that you are most welcome and invited and in this space.

In peace,
Pastor Tina +
