Press Release: Day of Service

SPARTA, N.J. – August 15, 2016—Joining with other member churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on Sunday, September 11, 2016, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will participate in a day of service and kick off the program year themed “God’s work. Our hands.”

Members and friends of the community are welcome to join us for worship and service to benefit O.S.C.A.R. and Eleventh Hour Rescue – two animal rescues with ties to the congregation. “As God’s people, we are the hands (and feet) that bring the Good News to all of God’s creation,” stated Pastor Tina Reyes.   Morning worship is celebrated at 8 & 10:15 AM, with activities planned at both rescue locations and at Shepherd of the Hills after each service.

Shepherd of the Hills will also be gathering gently used and laundered towels, bedspreads, and sweaters for the shelters.  These may be brought to church throughout the week between 9 am and 5 pm or on Sunday morning.  The last day for donations will be Sunday, September 11.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  All are welcome to worship, grow, and serve with us as we proclaim God’s love and grace to all people.

Shepherd of the Hills is located at 246 Woodport Rd. in Sparta.  For directions or more information about church activities, visit http://www.sothnj.org/ or call Pastor Tina directly at (973) 729-7010.
