Sunday of Palms and Passion
Hosanna! Blessed is Jesus who comes in God’s Name!
We stand at the gates of our Jerusalem and wave our branches high. We get caught up in the excitement of the parade. Jesus sits astride a donkey, a beast of burden bearing a most precious gift. Praise God for the wondrous ways in which our lives have been touched.
But remember that the shouting will die out and the time of trial will still lie ahead of us. Soon there will be a deathly quiet on the land. Soon the Savior will give his life for us. (Ministry Matters, Worship Connection for 3.29.2015)
This is the tension of this Sunday – joy to sorrow; praise to mourning; parade to mob. We live in the middle of these two things – and as such, we will worship the one who rode in on a donkey and fulfilled a plan made in love.
No matter where you are…know that you are most welcome here.
We Welcome.
The Easter Egg Hunt is coming Saturday March 28 from 1-3 PM!
There are few things that we could still use your help with!

Wednesdays in Lent:
6:30 PM – Soup & Bread Supper – All are welcome. If you feel inclined, bring a pot of your favorite soup to share.
7:00 PM – Evening Worship. This week (3/25), we will hear our final interview with a ‘silent witness’ – The Stone of the crucifixion. A small ‘witness’ will be given to accompany the crosses handed out on Ash Wednesday.
If you have missed these services, but would like to pray the devotions during Holy Week, a packet and short devotional will be available for you on Sunday.
Faith Formation:
There are two learning events this week for the Sunday of Palms and Passion:
9:15 – During our faith formation hour, we invite all families to make a Resurrection Garden to take home and to tend during Holy Week. (Even if you have no kids – you are invited!)
10:15 Worship – While we read the Passion of Christ, we invite preschool-2nd grade students to a special Palm/Passion worship education. The students will rejoin the congregation during the Offering.
There will be NO Sunday School on April 5 (Easter).
Easter Breakfast – April 5, 9 AM
Hop to it – we’re looking for volunteers to provide breakfast casseroles or quiches, baked goods, and fruit for our community meal together as we celebrate the Victory of Jesus. There are sign-ups at church. Nancy Wood is coordinating this yummy event and can be reached at home or via (email)
Extra Ham or Turkey? We have a solution for you! The Faith Kitchen Prep team will gladly take your donation to be used for future meal preparation. Please bring them to church and leave them in the freezer. Mark them TFK. Thanks.
We send.
