Ministry & Mission News:
Fall Food Outreach
In the season of abundance, we are working with C4C,Project Self-Sufficiency, and the SEC Food Pantry for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

Our goal this year is to raise $3000 and 20 frozen turkeys.
To date, we have raised $1100

As an added incentive – Pastor (with kid approval) will dye her hairblue for Advent if both goals are reached by November 18.

Signup sheets for turkey donations, packing night, and delvier for the Thanksgiving event are in the narthex.

Hurricane Matthew Recovery:  There are still devastating reports and pictures reaching us from Haiti to North Carolina of the destruction and loss of life from Matthew.  Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Disaster Response are two respected and trusted agencies that are on the ground providing relief and recovery.  Click on either agency to be directed to their site for you to directly donate.  And keep them in your prayers.

Third Quarter Giving Statements:  Keep an eye on your mailbox for third quarter giving statements.  Prayerfully discern how your giving reflects the generosity that you experienced as God’s chosen.  As the congregation heads into the 4th quarter, we are $40,000 behind giving from this time last year.

Lunch Bunch: October’s Lunch Bunch will take place on Thursday, October 27 at 1 PM.  This month, the bunch is headed to the Black Forest Inn, 249 Route 206, Stanhope, NJ.  Contact Jane Lewandowski for more information.

All Saints Sunday: This is a heads up for Sunday, November 6 – the day when we will remember those who have died in Christ.  There will be a candle ceremony for all those who have died. We will also remember those who have died in the last year in our prayers. We will do this at all three worship services.

Also, at the end of the 10:15 worship service, we will dedicate the memorial garden that was constructed by Joe Schwab.  More information as that day gets closer.

Ecumenical Prayer Cycle:  We join with Christians around the world praying for our brothers and sisters in joy and concern.  For October 16-October 22,  we pray for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal. Learn more about these countries when you click on the link, which will direct you to the World Council of Churches website.
