What’s the Buzz? Here’s What’s Happenin’!

Grace and peace to you all!

We’ve reached the end of another month, another 30 days of stay at home.  And it looks like we’ll continue to do so for a bit more.  I want to thank all of you for your efforts – staying home or working, trying new ways of learning and meeting, being kind to one another and to yourself.  It is hard to keep going.  Please take breaks as you can. And hydrate.

Here’s some buzz to consider…

Online Shopping
If you are shopping online – either using Amazon or another website, your purchases may be eligible for a charitable donation to Shepherd of the Hills.

Under smile.amazon.com, we are listed as Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.  Look for Sparta, NJ as there are many of the same name.  The donations are donated quarterly to the church by Amazon.

For years, we’ve been taking part in the iGive program, which works with varying companies to provide donations.  You sign up and install an extension in your browser.  When you visit Staples or Lands End (two that i frequent), you’ll be asked to confirm a donation for your purchase. Every quarter, the church receives a check for the money earned.

Email me if you have questions or need help getting set up.

Helping Ministry Partners
Our local ministry partners are also struggling to meet the needs of their clients.  i invite you to join me in sharing a gift to one of the following:
Family Promise of Sussex County, 19 Church St, Newton, NJ 07860
Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry, 32 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871
The Faith Kitchen at Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 E. Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801

Hymnals & Bibles
Augsburg Fortress, the publishing house for the ELCA, is having a sale on the cranberry hymnal we use along withe some children’s bibles.  The best part is that they have waived their shipping fees. A hymnal is a great resource and practical as well.  We use the Spark Story Bible as part of our curriculum as well as a gift to our youngest baptized folks.  Here is the link with details

Worship Servants May to August
With thanks to Barbara Robinson, here is the worship servant list. I know that it seems weird to put a full schedule out – that’s where we hope.  Please email her if you have questions.

That’s all folks for Thursday, April 30.  Evening Prayer tonight at 7:30 pm.
Hold on to small pets and unsecured objects.

Peace,
Pastor Tina
